Part 5 -----Juxtaposition

As we learn about juxtaposition last week in class,this is what i found out about the definition of this week.

Juxtaposition is defined as :

1. the act of positioning close together (or side by side); "it is the result of the juxtaposition of contrasting colors.
2. a side-by-side position

From my knowing, juxtaposition is like when there is two words and we combined them and we could build another phrase of it and create a new meaning to both of the words.Lets look what have i found from the internet about juxtaposition:

Juxtaposition and Contrast

In the class activity,we do an activity called as Juxtaposition.Well,it is something like provebs,it kind of fun though,we were shown by Mr Radzi a simple mix and match number and words like below :

1. Flower <------------> 0. Head
2. Lightning <--------------> 9. Rain
3. Ice <--------------> 8. Wood
4. Light <--------------> 7. Tree
5. Fire <--------------> 6. spider
6. Duck <--------------> 5. Root
7. Dog <--------------> 4. Mountain
8. Oil <--------------> 3. Wind
9. Leave <--------------> 2. Rock
0. Fly <--------------> 1. Water

And i have choose the number 33 , 14 and 27.Then we were asked to combined both of the words and i get

ICEWIND
FLOWERMOUNTAIN

LIGHTING TREE

Then we were asked again to build a phrase by using both of the different words and this is i come out with,

1.The weather is cold as ice and brezzy like wind
2.She has a beautiful eye like flower and high IQ like mountain.
3.The lighting struck the tree

Part 4 ------Associated Mind Mapping

Today is wednesday of week 3..time passed very fast n now almost the mid term of our 2nd semester n we almost had done half of our creative studies...

so this week the lecturer teach us about the Associated Mind Mapping.....so wat's the meaning by associated mind mapping n wat's the differences between logical mind mapping n associated mind mapping....

Mind mapping is a technique of generating ideas, organizing information, and identifying relationships among ideas, concepts, attributes and information. A mindmap is a picture, a mental picture you can look at.

It is believed to more naturally mimic how the mind functions to create and process information than making lists in linear fashion, which permits ready connections only to the previous and subsequent ideas.

Mind mapping offers a way for journalists to create and organize ideas and information.

Most mind maps begin with a central idea, question, concept, quote, title. Then one identifies subsidiary ideas at nodes and links concepts with directional arrows. Some specialists recommend using pictures and colored pens or pencils, because they argue, one remembers images and color better than black-and-white text.

A logical mind map is also defined as a stereotype mind map as everything that we draft or draw into the mind map is directly connected to the subject we are talking on.

As for associated mind map,it seems that two different thing that links to a subject could have no connections at all.

After class,it brings me back to my foundation times when we took the Design Fundamental course which requires us to do mind map all the time.

That time,logical mind map is strongly stressed as we have to produce something out of a subject and that means,when the viewers see ours artwork,they have to understand what we are trying to bring out from the subject that we have choosen.

But as for me,having know about associated mind map,i guess this type of mind map can make people more creative in terms of their thinking and ideation.

A mind map can make the learning becomes more effective in a way that it make sure that the person will never run out from their path and will hardly make mistake in achiveing what they are looking for.i have found a informative sites about the mind map.

The Mind Map is simple to make, because it works just like your brain and memory.

So how does it work? A Mind Map is:

1. A way of remembering information

Information is presented in a form that is logical and easy to remember. Recalling a branch leads to memory of the sub-branch details. Students can put information into this form for recall in examinations.

2. A way of generating ideas

You have one idea but it seems to go nowhere. Make it the title of a mind map. The branches prompt you to add ideas at another level. A structure emerges. Soon that idea has become a whole concept. The mind map keeps all your ideas in front of you in a clear form. Each new idea is a center of thought for more new ideas.

3. A way of organizing thoughts

When you have a number of thoughts and want see how they relate to each other, starting a Mind Map helps get them organized. You will be able to pick out the main thoughts and see how the others relate to them.

4.Works from overview to details

The main branches convey the overall picture, while the sub-branches give the key points or details. You can see quickly how items are related and inter-dependant. The mind map brings clarity to complex material.

5. Focuses your mind on the main issues

The mind map enables you to see at a glance, what is important. As you work, your whole brain and all your skills come into play. Mind mapping is fun.

6. Helps you to solve problems

The very act of making a mind map around a problem, helps you to see possible solutions and to select the one that will meet all your criteria.

7. Compact

By making use of color, shape, style, layout and fonts, a Mind Map can hold a large amount of information in a small space. A whole complex concept can be presented on one page.

8. Graphical

Mind Maps give the whole story in one picture. Your map can be easily read by other

9. Uses words

Using text allows your ideas to be expressed accurately. You can use your own language. You can form a document from your mind map.

10. Uses color

Ideas can be linked by using the same shape for their boxes, or the same color for the branches. Emotions can be conveyed, and importance stressed.

11. Can be used for training and job instruction

Each branch is an important step in an operation and the sub-branches are the key points in each step.

For the class activity the lecturer show us some related work of mortal n pestle then ask us to pick 3 of the words n draw on the drawing paper..wat i had choose is sun, power n exercise....

sun---mortal n pestle can be umbrella...

power---mortal n pestle can be the crown n the king stick...

while exercise would be related to olympic where the fire tomb where it's can use mortal n pestle to do...

haha...that all my nonscence idea....but that wat our lecturer wan to be a creative student..hope i can get much more crazy idea n edit in this page.....

Part 3----Mind Mapping

Using left brain is a Logic they are Lists, Linearity, Woros, Numbers, Sequence, and Analysis.

Using right brain is a Rythem there are Color, Imagination, Day Dream, Dimension, SpacialAwarness and Music.

Mind mapping is a diagram or pictures to allow us to explore the idea. And mind mapping have two types. Logic map and Association map

.

Logic map is the map that need logic during you create or come out the idea. So you can’t simple add in the idea which is not suitable or not logic.

Association map is the map that you can add in the idea if you able to come out form your mind. Is it not right or wrong. Even the idea has not relationship with the topic.

And lecturers also show us some example during the class. It is quite easy to understand when the lecturer provide us some example during class.

Part 2-----Novelty, Creativity, Innovation & Invention

Today,I learn the new thing which is call Novelty, creativity,innovation and invention.

Actually the meaning of this few word is quite smiler.But after you understand it you can find out some different in that.

Novelty-Using the new idea or concept to create something new and totally different with the original.

Creativity-Create with the imagination and the new idea might be link with other think

Innovation-Mean the new way of think,revolution of thinking.
For example like last time A can mix with B,but now A can mix with B and C.

Invention-Mean the create of new way to produce something or new way to develop some idea which is already exist.

Beside all the knowledge the lecturer also show us a video clips that talk about invention, he also ask us search on the inventor of micro cips n this is what i get from internet...

Part 1---Defining Creativity

Finally came to the class i waiting n waiting...today Mr Halim going to explain deeply a bout creativity...firstly he define the meaning of creativity....as the extra information i search it in web and get the definition as below....

Creativity is a mental and social process involving the generation of new ideas or concepts, or new associations of the creative mind between existing ideas or concepts. An alternative conception of creativness is that it is simply the act of making something new.

From a scientific point of view, the products of creative thought (sometimes referred to as divergent thought) are usually considered to have both originality and appropriateness.

Although intuitively a simple phenomenon, it is in fact quite complex. It has been studied from the perspectives of behavioural psychology, social psychology, psychometrics, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, philosophy, history, economics, design research, business, and management, among others. The studies have covered everyday creativity, exceptional creativity and even artificial creativity. Unlike many phenomena in science, there is no single, authoritative perspective or definition of creativity. And unlike many phenomena in psychology, there is no standardized measurement technique.
Creativity has been attributed variously to divine intervention, cognitive processes, the social environment, personality traits, and chance ("accident", "serendipity"). It has been associated with genius, mental illness and humour. Some say it is a trait we are born with; others say it can be taught with the application of simple techniques. Creativity has also been viewed as a beneficence of a muse or Muses.

Although popularly associated with art and literature, it is also an essential part of innovation and invention and is important in professions such as business, economics, architecture, industrial design, science and engineering.

Despite, or perhaps because of, the ambiguity and multi-dimensional nature of creativity, entire industries have been spawned from the pursuit of creative ideas and the development of creativity techniques.
Leonardo Da Vinci is well known for his creative works.

Creativity has been associated with right or forehead brain activity or even specifically with lateral thinking.

Some students of creativity have emphasized an element of chance in the creative process. Linus Pauling, asked at a public lecture how one creates scientific theories, replied that one must endeavor to come up with many ideas — then discard the useless ones.

Another adequate definition of creativity is that it is an "assumptions-breaking process." Creative ideas are often generated when one discards preconceived assumptions and attempts a new approach or method that might seem to others unthinkable.
URL:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creativity

Above is the definition that i surf after the creativity class.After i read this article i get more confirm that creative is very important for human.
Without the creativity mindset people will get boring soon with everything they have.

For example if the business man want to attract people to consume his product ,maybe he can just do some modify in the outlook of the product, If the consumer like the product that the sale rate of the product will increase with easy.

Lastly, can define that creativity is not just important in the art world but also every aspect in our life.

while for the class activity....
This session the lecturergive us some exercise that is how we appearance our partner or friends to the object.

This is the question for the exercise :-

We need to interview our partner and then ask bout his/her background and then draw a things that represent him/her .
My partner is Heidy , she describe me is a watermelon girl :( and I describe her is a small cute tomato) -.-v

Well, I also dunno why she describe me so, but she had told me it's because I look like watermelon green outside n red inside ~~ haha =.=v but as I know from what she said because even i'm cool outside but very sensitives, humour, fun, creativity, out going, optimistic, friendly, happy go lucky person, and also very talkative.

Below is the graphic that she describe me as a watermelon girl....
